Colour contrast was key to creating Linda’s dream abode
When Bruce and Linda discovered our Milano One design, they knew it would be the perfect fit for their new patch of land nestled amongst the rolling valleys and remarkable historic landmarks of the Maitland region in NSW.
After making the decision to downsize to a smaller lot and create their new home from scratch, the couple began their search for the best builder to bring their dream to life, and it was then that they came across our Milano Display Home in Sydney.
“The Display Homes we visited were miles in front of everyone else’s, there was no doubt McDonald Jones had beautiful homes. The Milano One was the perfect layout for our family and the ideal fit for our site,” Linda said.
The Milano is a favourite from our NextGen Collection for families, like Linda and Bruce, who are looking for a home that offers plenty of space for relaxation and privacy, balanced with stylish and contemporary spaces for entertaining and coming together.
“I love to entertain and have friends around, and the large kitchen and Alfresco in the Milano are great for that,” Linda said. "I absolutely love my kitchen, there’s so many beautiful features. Many people who come and visit us see the kitchen and say ‘wow’.”
When it came to decorating their new home, Linda couldn’t speak more highly of her experience in our MyChoice Design Studios and the Consultant, Nadine, who took her through the process.
“We came prepared for our MyChoice Appointment; we looked at many McDonald Jones Display Homes to see what colours had been used and decided to base our look on bits and pieces from those,” Linda said.
When you see the different spaces in Linda’s home, from the living hub to the Master Suite, you discover a carefully considered interior design built around the celebration of contrasting colours and textures. Linda has chosen an ultra-modern, elegant look for her new home which draws on the contrast of black and white to reflect her family’s personality and way of life.
Surprisingly, another inspiring source for the look and feel of Linda’s new home was social media. “The McDonald Jones Facebook page is so useful for people who are building. You can see designs, photos of other people’s homes and read comments that can help you with your own choices.”
The couple are now happily enjoying their new, luxurious abode and couldn’t speak more highly of their experience with McDonald Jones.
“This was the first time we have built new and I have to say, I’d do it again tomorrow if you let me. The customer service was excellent from start to finish and our home was built really quickly. If we build again, we would choose McDonald Jones Homes.”
