McDonald Jones, in partnership with Landcom, is building an innovative display home as part of the Panorama development in North Wilton, South-West Sydney. This build has been awarded some of the highest certifications in NSW including BASIX 100 Energy score, an As Designed Green Star Homes certification from the Green Building Council of Australia, as well as a leading 8.7 Star NatHERS rating.

The Net Zero Home showcases leading renewable energy technology, sustainable construction methods, resilient building materials and a range of recycled products. It could save the average household up to $1,700 a year in bills. Once constructed, energy use will be tracked to identify new ways to reduce operating costs.

Net Zero Construction

It's been designed to produce enough renewable energy, offsetting the annual carbon emissions of its estimated energy use. The display home will be an educational experience for people to come and learn how to incorporate sustainable healthy design for new or existing homes. Preliminary works have commenced, and the home is expected to be complete in late 2025.

In the development of this project, we have used a range of products that all contribute to offsetting the annual carbon emissions of its energy use, such as:

A message from the CEO

Our decision to partner with Landcom on this project recognises our commitment to improving sustainability in our business and the housing industry.

Through this home, we will soon be able to offer customers the opportunity to access the innovative products used in this project in their own homes.
