Builder brings early Christmas cheer to Maitland Hospital
Hunter businesses joined forces with V8 Supercar drivers James Courtney and Alex Davison, along with TV celebrities Scott Cam and Lara Welham, to raise $100,000 for Maitland Hospital at McDonald Jones Homes’ Christmas party held at Wests Leagues Club in New Lambton on Friday night.
“It was a Christmas party with a twist,” McDonald Jones founder Bill McDonald said.
“The Hunter and the Maitland region in particular have been such strong supporters of McDonald Jones for more than 25 years, so we’re delighted to be able to give something back.
“This region is very active in terms of growth and needs facilities such as Maitland Hospital to be every bit as good as those of any major metropolitan centre.”
Around 450 people attended the event, which involved auctions and raffle items donated by local businesses and suppliers to the business. McDonald Jones employees, contractors and suppliers also ran a mini-expo to showcase the innovations and services associated with the home building industry.
