Wallpaper delight
Wallpaper is trending, and for good reason. It takes a room to a whole new level and adds a strong sense of style, no different to a key piece of furniture. Something that has certainly changed over the last few years is the way we are now installing it. We see more people planning ahead with their wallpaper during the early design stages of their build and having it seamlessly installed by professionals rather than trying to follow along with a “how to” instructional video on YouTube.
We sat down with our Interior Design Manager, Nadine Latunin, as she shared some insights on some of our favourite wallpapers she has used in our display homes.
“The texture and pattern (of wallpaper) instantly makes the space feel warm and gives the room a subtle graphic pattern that pulls everything together.”
- Steve Cordony
Trying to decide on the perfect wallpaper for a room or a theme throughout your home can seem like a daunting task! A good place to start is to decide whether you plan to use the wallpaper as a feature that tends to be bold and eye-catching or whether you prefer more of a subtle backdrop that complements the space.
Nadine takes great care in where she sources wallpapers from, and we can’t go past the elegance of The Textile Company. When planning on papering multiple walls within a space, a great option is to go for a subtle colour with a textural element to create an interesting layer without overpowering the style theme.
In the Havana Encore Two at HomeWorld Thornton, Nadine has used a light grey textured wallpaper throughout the master suite, home theatre, bed two and children’s activity. This feature delicately ties the Urban Organic styling together, creating a subtle visual flow through the open plan space.
The master bedroom in the Havana Encore Two at HomeWorld Thornton showcases this stunning natural wallpaper. To see more detail about this particular pattern you can head over to their website to view the Phillip Jeffries Vinyl Seaside Linen II.
“The easy, breezy look of coastal textures with a subtle cross-weave is now available in performance vinyl.
Luxury has never been so durable and affordable.”

Another recently opened display that perfectly showcases our love of subtle wallpapers is the Bronte Executive Grande Manor One in Lochinvar. The subtle grey pattern coupled with the panelling creates a stunning feature wall in the living room of the Bronte display.
Throughout our recently refurbished Bronte display in Lochinvar, we’ve chosen to exclusively use wallpapers from The Textile Company, specifically the S Harris Rigi 14006W Sparrow 05.
“A perfect complement to S. Harris fabrics and trimmings is the Habitat Modern collection is an elegant fusion of cutting-edge techniques and performance, ideal for both residential and commercial applications.”
