It is so exciting to watch a concept grow from the smallest of ideas to reality.
Answer would absolutely be the versatility. When McDonald Jones creates a floorplan, they often will look at the big picture and offer multiple versions of that floorplan to suit different needs – whether that be larger or smaller versions, alternate kitchen layouts, guest bedroom options etc. The company is always listening to the market and providing floorplan options and variations to suit a variety of lifestyles.
I’ve worked in the construction/real estate industry for coming up to a decade now. I also have experience working in the finance industry specialising in corporate accounting which makes it second nature to look at both the interpersonal and analytical sides of my role.
I very much see building a home as a journey, so I like to get to know clients on a personal level so we can work out together exactly what the spaces are going to be used for and how we can take advantage of their design to suit their lifestyle.
Working in an acreage display home I’ve definitely encountered my fair share of clients building on large parcels of land, so am quite well versed in the points we need to be aware of that differ from a build in suburbia and how to make the most of your acreage.
Buying my first home at auction (14 registered bidders including 3 on the phone/online from Sydney) midway through last year was a definite highlight.
I like to think of my role as more relationship based opposed to sales based, so I think being able to foster a great working relationship while working towards your new home is key so the communication we have is open and honest – because at the end of the day, we’ll achieve the best result that way. Coming originally from an accounting background as well means I can assess a clients overall situation, block of land, design requirements through a lens that is no stranger to looking at the finer details.

Absolutely! We realise clients sometimes need to put their own stamp on their future home – this can be as simple as adding a cavity sliding door to an ensuite opposed to an opening.
We sure can! We will work with you to brainstorm which McDonald Jones design would best suit not just the block of land, but also what will work best with your lifestyle and what you have planned for the future (pools, sheds etc).
We offer a complimentary tender for your chosen design based on your block of land – as a part of this we have our site inspector attend the site (assuming the block is registered and accessible) to gain a better understanding of the land and what we’re dealing with. From there we have one of our qualified estimators put together the tender with your Wishlist factored in as well as any notes from our site inspection so we can sit down and go over it all together so you have a very clear idea on cost and what the next steps are to get the ball rolling.
